• Trained in the UK with BP Wado-Ryu Karate Club and Swansea Shotokan Karate Club from 1983 to 1985

  Welsh National Kata Champion as 1st Kyu (3rd Brown Belt) in 1985, before returning to Ireland

• Attempted Black Belt in 1987 with Enoeda Sensei (8th Dan) and 1988 with Sensei Andy Sherry (6th Dan)

• Joined Whitehall (Shin-do-kan) Karate Club (SKIF Ireland) in 1995

• Graded 1st Dan Black Belt that year by Kancho Kanazawa (Chief Instructor SKIF, 10th Dan)

• Instructor at Shin-do-kan Karate Club. Graded 2nd Dan in 1998, by Kanazawa Sensei (Chief Instructor SKIF, 10th Dan)

• Started St.Vincents Shotokan Karate Club in January 2000 and St. Josephs in September 2001

• Graded 3rd Dan Black Belt in 2002 by Kancho Kanazawa (Chief Instructor SKIF, 10th Dan)

• Graded 4th Dan Black Belt in 2007 by Kancho Kanazawa (Chief Instructor SKIF, 10th Dan)
